Our Lazy Days Are Numbered

Tonight the kids and I had one of those long-film, easy-food, no-bath kind of evenings. They tumbled about laughing, gave each other wedgies and went to bed deliciously late and mellow. I slobbed about in sweatpants, neglected all the chores and took a leisurely tour round some of my favourite blogs instead.

Over Christmas I was sick and had no appetitite, so I lost quite a lot of weight. Now I'm better, my body has moved cleverly into post-famine fat-hoarding mode, which coincides nicely with having a kitchen full of Christmas chocolate biscuits. It's getting out of control ... surely I've had enough catch-up calories by now?

We only have one day left to be lazy toads, before going back out into the real world to report dutifully to work and school on Tuesday. Shame really, I'm quite enjoying this!

  1. Ah, the doing nothing days, love them. We had one Friday, never got out of our PJ's and didn't even turn the mortice lock in our front door, let alone open it. Good luck getting back into the 'normal' routine.

  2. Hi GBS!
I love lazy days! There's nothing I love more than to stay in my pyjamas all day long (especially when it's cold weather) just lazing about and watching films on Dvd!

I hope you are feeling better!
And now you've got me craving for chocolate biscuits and I don't have any in the house! haha X

  7. we didn't have as much time off as you, but the weeks were odd and broken up with the holidays, and short days, and hardly anyone at work. on friday after new year's day i kept thinking it was monday.

and now it well and truly is monday, and an entire five-day work week looms. will i make it?

    always the question....

glad you're enjoying your lazy time. it's fun.

  8. Know what you mean. The Littleboys go back to nursery tomorrow and I'm really going to miss our afternoons of sitting around watching Wallace & Gromit or Madagascar in front of the fire.....I think the 6th of January is one of the most depressing days in the calendar, actually.

Hope you're feeling much better. Nothing wrong with stock piling some calories in this weather:-)

  13. @Bruno "I gained 10 pounds in 18 days" - that just shows that you celebrated Christmas 'properly' (well that's what I've been telling myself anyway, and I'm sticking to it)

  20. Hi came to you via PITK and really identify with your lazy days. There is nothing to beat holing up and slobbing out every now and then. Think it is important that you can't do it too often because the crazy sense of self indulgence would go and you (by which I mean me) would just be a slob.
